Born in California, I grew up in Ventura County in the city of Newberry Park.
Graduating with a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from the University of California at Santa Barbara, I started my counseling career working with youth from ages 5-18 in residential treatment settings. After graduating with my Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute, I worked for CHILDNET in Long Beach as a psychotherapist.
After CHILDNET, I went on to work as Foster Care Supervising Social Worker at G.L.A.S.S., a non-profit organization serving gay, lesbian and transgendered youth. Later, I was promoted to the Director of the Foster Care at G.L.A.S.S.
My next position was with the wonderful organization, VISTA DEL MAR, one of Southern California’s first adoption agencies. I was in charge of the Phillipines International Adoption program, working with adoptive parents and children, including home visits and managing extensive International Adoptive standards.
I began my private practice in 2008, working with families, couples and individual clients. I really enjoy the diversity of issues that clients bring, working collaboratively to find lasting solutions.
